The pelvis is our foundation.

It is the base upon which the rest of our body moves. The pelvic floor helps regulate our nervous system. It controls bladder, bowel, and sexual function. It provides stability and alignment to our hips and back. It transmits force from our legs to and from our core. It helps manage pressure through our abdomen when lifting, squatting, jumping, sneezing, laughing, and coughing. It works directly with our diaphragm (breathing), and is impacted by our past experiences, movement strategies, habits, stress levels, emotional state, hormones, and muscle balance from our head to our toes.

  • We provide comprehensive pre-op therapy to best prepare you for upcoming gynecological or abdominal surgery.

We provide post-operative treatment to safely get you feeling your best and back to doing what you want to do.

  • As part of a post-op mastectomy treatment plan, we will utilize different manual techniques to improve the scar tissue, increase upper extremity range of motion, and restore strength, function, and well-being.

  • Fascia is connective tissue that holds our muscles together, which allows them to contract and stretch. It provides a smooth surface for your muscles, joints and organs to slide against each other freely.

Often, fascial and myofascial tissue becomes stiff, adhered, or tight. We provide hands-on treatment and exercises to mobilize your myofascial tissue and retrain your brain-body connection for longterm relief.

Prenatal Services

  • We provide an individualized treatment plan to optimize your body for a more comfortable pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum recovery. We do this by improving the mind-body connection through breath and movement, opening the pelvis and hips through hands-on therapy and gentle stretches, performing specialized muscle coordination and pressure management exercises, and targeted education.

  • Pregnant people have pelvic floors (and pelvic floor dysfunction) too! Even in pregnancy, we can address bladder, bowel, prolapse, and other pelvic floor concerns.

  • With pregnancy comes lots of changes! The body is very capable of shifting and accommodating a growing baby. However, for many women that comes with aches, pains, and other symptoms that negatively impact daily life. Physical therapy is a safe and proven treatment for many conditions associated with pregnancy.

Commonly treated conditions include pelvic girdle pain, pubic symphysis pain, SI jt. pain, hip pain, and back pain.

Postpartum Services

  • We'll complete a thorough, full-body assessment of your healing and other physical measures including posture/alignment, pelvic floor function, bowel/bladder function, diastasis recti, scar tissue, and body mechanics.

This is recommended for women 6-12 weeks postpartum to optimize a smooth recovery and address any concerns early on.

  • Commonly treated postpartum bladder concerns include retention, incontinence, painful urination, and urgency.

  • Commonly treated postpartum bowel concerns include constipation, painful bowel movements, and incontinence.

  • Pelvic organ prolapse is common following childbirth. We can minimize or completely resolve your symptoms while getting you back to the activities you love.

  • Commonly treated postpartum pain includes pelvic pain, hip pain, vaginal pain, abdominal pain, back pain, shoulder pain, and wrist pain.

  • Diastases recti (abdominal muscle separation) is common (and normal) in pregnancy and postpartum. Sometimes it heals on its own, but often it does not. Treatment involves so much more than simply strengthening the abdominal muscles and there is no "one-size-fits all" treatment program. We specialize in treating diastases recti and provide individualized treatment plans to address your specific condition and goals.

  • We provide comprehensive, evidence-based evaluation of a woman’s history, physical measures, and goals to identify any risk factors she may have with returning to sport or activity after having a baby or gynecological/ abdominal surgery.

Sports activity involves full-body movements and we need to assess the whole kinetic chain to properly assess it. We take you through a series of evidence-based physical assessments to test your ability. Based on the findings of the assessment, a plan for returning to sport/activity is established.

It’s never too late to seek help. Whether 6 weeks, 6 months, or 6+ years…postpartum is forever!

Other Services
